Acceptance & the service
These terms govern your use of Trace, a portfolio, publishing, and professional network product developed under Null Origin. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms, subject to applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the service.
Legal operator: Null Origin (Pty) Ltd. Service address: [CONFIRM SERVICE ADDRESS]. Information Officer: [CONFIRM INFORMATION OFFICER CONTACT].
Null Origin is the identified product brand. Contact support.trace@nullorigin.tech. Complete any marked operator details and obtain legal review before production release.
Eligibility & account creation
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement under the law applicable to you. Registration currently does not verify age. Provide accurate account information, choose a permitted unique username, and do not impersonate another person or organization.
An account may use email and password or Google sign-in when available. Complete required verification and onboarding. You are responsible for the information you choose to put in your profile.
Account security & responsibilities
Protect your credentials and devices, keep your email accessible, and notify support if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account, subject to applicable law and circumstances outside your control.
Use Trace lawfully, respect others, and ensure you have rights to upload and publish the work and information you provide. Keep your own backups of important work.
Acceptable use
Do not publish unlawful, exploitative, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or deceptive content; violate privacy or intellectual property rights; impersonate others; distribute malware; or submit content that you lack permission to share.
Do not attempt to access another account’s drafts or files, bypass security or rate limits, manipulate engagement, send spam, scrape personal information unlawfully, or disrupt the platform. Responsible security reports should be sent privately to support.
Your work remains yours
You retain ownership of your original content. Using Trace does not transfer your intellectual property to Trace or Null Origin. You are responsible for securing rights and permissions for third-party material in your work.
You grant Trace a non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, format, generate previews of, and display your content only as reasonably necessary to operate the platform and the publication and sharing features you choose. Service providers may process content for those purposes. This permission does not grant ownership or a general right to sell or commercially reuse your work outside operating Trace.
Publishing & public addresses
Drafts start in your private workspace. Publishing creates a public snapshot accessible through your /@username address, project links, and discovery. Review profile details and content before publishing. Draft changes require republishing to appear in the public snapshot.
Unpublishing removes active public access within Trace. Separately published items must be reviewed individually. Other people and search engines may keep copies beyond Trace’s control. Usernames are unique platform identifiers; availability does not establish trademark ownership, and changing your username can affect shared links.
Trace’s software & branding
Trace’s software, official branding, interface assets, and first-party components remain the property of their respective owners. Permission to use the service does not transfer rights to those assets.
Your original projects and portfolio content are distinct from Trace’s platform assets. Respect the licenses of linked repositories, media, templates, and third-party components.
Reporting, infringement & moderation
Signed-in users can report published content through the existing reporting feature. You can also send concerns, infringement notices, or safety reports to support.trace@nullorigin.tech. Include the relevant URL, the issue, and enough information to assess your claim without unnecessary sensitive details.
Trace stores reports but does not currently provide a dedicated moderation dashboard, appeal workflow, or guaranteed response time. The operator may restrict or remove content and investigate misuse as needed, subject to applicable law. False or abusive reports are prohibited.
Suspension & ending your account
The operator may restrict access or remove content where reasonably necessary to address security, unlawful conduct, violations of these terms, or a legal obligation. Where required by law, appropriate notice and opportunities to respond must be provided; no automated moderation process is promised.
You may stop using Trace, unpublish your work, or request account deletion at support.trace@nullorigin.tech. There is currently no self-service account deletion flow. Identity checks, legal retention, backups, and third-party copies may affect removal. The Privacy Policy explains the current data practices.
Third-party services
Trace uses Vercel for production web hosting, Supabase for accounts, data, and storage, and Resend for configured welcome-email delivery. Google sign-in is optional when enabled. External links, images, video embeds, and repositories are operated by third parties.
Those providers have their own terms and privacy practices. Trace does not control their content or guarantee their availability. Do not assume a link or embed is an endorsement.
Availability, changes & paid services
Trace may change features, apply limits, or experience maintenance, interruptions, or data loss. We do not guarantee continuous availability or a particular performance level. Keep copies of work you cannot afford to lose.
The current implementation includes service-entitlement records but no activated payment checkout or paid subscription purchase flow. Any future paid offering must disclose prices, billing, cancellation, and applicable consumer rights before you agree to purchase. No payment obligation is created by these terms alone.
Disclaimers & liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Trace is provided as available, without a promise that every feature will meet your particular needs or that every publication or external link is accurate. You are responsible for evaluating content and protecting your work.
Any exclusions or limitations apply only where lawful. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, statutory consumer protections, or remedies for unlawful conduct. No unverified monetary liability cap or waiver of mandatory rights is imposed.
Applicable law & disputes
Contact support.trace@nullorigin.tech first to explain a dispute and seek a practical resolution. This does not prevent you from using legal remedies, contacting a regulator, or exercising mandatory rights.
Governing-law and forum designation await confirmation of the operator’s legal identity and location. Applicable mandatory law remains in effect, including South African protections where they apply. These terms do not establish compulsory arbitration or an unverified exclusive court jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms & contact
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The effective date is shown above, and revised terms will be available at /terms. Material changes should be communicated appropriately, subject to applicable law. A dedicated change-notification workflow has not been implemented.
For support, infringement reports, account termination requests, and questions about these terms, email support.trace@nullorigin.tech. Legal review and completion of the operator details, eligibility policy, retention process, and applicable-law designation remain required before production release.
Let’s keep the conversation open.
